The Downswing
We just got done spending three weeks doing extra work around our house to get ready for company. We had company overnight this past Sunday (a my sister-in-law's family of seven). We had the same family and my mother-in-law over Monday. Yesterday afternoon, another seven member family came to visit and spend the night and this morning with us. They had to leave this afternoon.
*SIGH*
We planned on not doing much except relaxing this afternoon/evening, but I have been feeling out of sorts. The rest of the family has been napping, knitting, playing board games, watching videos, and listening to music. I did take a nap earlier, but I just don't seem to know what to do. I'm at a loss.
Then it hit me! I am experiencing the same feeling I used to get at the end of a week of church camp when I was a child/teen. I miss my friends and I'm sad they had to leave.

We have the following on our plates:
My husband is finishing his Spring quarter of college. He was inducted into the community college honor society this past Saturday.
The children are finishing up their final unit of their main homeschool curriculum. I'm still going to push math and reading, probably clear through the summer.
I finished my Spring semester of college. I did well. I have one class to take over the summer, so I can stay on schedule to graduate in the Spring of 2014. I've been fighting poison ivy for a couple weeks now, but it seems to be healing now. I spent the last two years avoiding it. I got it doing some yard work in our back yard. I have now gone back to being super careful (read anal) about not getting anything that might have come close to it close to me. I really don't handle it well.
We are all working on reclaiming our home after the crazy months of both parents being in college. It is a huge task (emptying out each room and cleaning it from top to bottom). We hope to finish the downstairs in time for a Memorial Day cookout. Then, we hope to finish the upstairs a couple days after Memorial Day.

Wow, I haven't posted here for quite a while!
Things have just been too crazy busy.
So, I'm sitting in a college library (not my college, my husband's He's across from me working on an assignment.) avoiding doing my assignments.
Yes, my husband and I are both back in college. Yes, some of our classmates aren't much older than our children. Yes, we are having a blast! We're having to work hard, but things come so much easier than they did right out of high school. We're also more confident and less self-conscious.
Anyway, I'm avoiding my homework because I already finished and turned in one major assignment today. I was up late last night and up early this morning in order to get it finished on time. There's also this little thing called spring break that I was officially on as of about 12:00 pm today. I have some major projects due right after spring break, so I will have to make this a working break.
Anyway, maybe I'll actually get to start posting on here more. One of the things that was stopping me before was our internet connection at home. Our home computer is a dinosaur that has dial-up, so it was not at all easy to get a post to go through.
Have a blessed day!
